What else Ohio asks of makeup artists

  • A boutique services registration covers braiding, threading, makeup artistry and shampooing only, and the holder may not claim a medical or healing benefit.
  • An applicant for a boutique services registration must be at least 16 years old.
  • The board does not set a number of training hours for the boutique registration; the trainer does, and the applicant proves training or apprenticeship with a notarized affidavit.
  • A boutique registration holder must work in a licensed facility that is valid for the scope of practice of the registration.
