Wyoming esthetician scope of practice

What can an esthetician do in Wyoming?

Wyoming licenses estheticians as an Esthetician through the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology. The basic esthetician license covers massaging, cleansing, exfoliating and applying preparations to the skin by hand, chemicals, or mechanical or electrical apparatuses, and removing superfluous hair by means other than electrolysis and laser; procedures that pierce the epidermal or dermal layer are prohibited. Below: whether that license covers microneedling, chemical peels, dermaplaning, laser and IPL, and Botox or fillers, each answered from Wyoming's own statutes, board rules or board statements, read on October 27, 2026.

Microneedling

Can estheticians do microneedling in Wyoming?

No. Microneedling pierces the skin, and the board says licensees are prohibited from offering any services that pierce the skin.

Chemical peels

Can estheticians do chemical peels in Wyoming?

Only with conditions. Chemical exfoliation is within the basic scope, but only procedures that do not pierce the epidermal or dermal layer are allowed, so peels that pierce the skin are prohibited.

Dermaplaning

Can estheticians do dermaplaning in Wyoming?

Only with conditions. Blade exfoliation and removal of superfluous hair by means other than electrolysis or laser fall within the basic scope, but the device must not pierce, ablate or destroy live skin tissue.

Laser and IPL

Can estheticians do laser hair removal in Wyoming?

No. Laser hair removal is excluded from the esthetician scope, and the board treats it as a medical treatment that licensees may not offer in a salon.

Botox and fillers

Can estheticians do Botox or fillers in Wyoming?

No. The board treats Botox and similar injections as medical treatments, and licensees may not offer medical treatments in a salon unless they hold a separate medical license.

Advanced license

Does Wyoming have a master esthetician license?

Wyoming's official pages we read name no advanced or master esthetician license; the basic Esthetician license is the one that sets the scope.
