What it does
Square Appointments brings online booking to the widely used Square payments platform, so scheduling, checkout, and hardware live in one account. Solo operators can use it free, with paid tiers adding multi-staff scheduling, and it includes reminders, deposits and no-show protection, a booking site, client profiles, and retail. Its biggest strength is tight integration with Square's card processing, POS hardware, and broader small-business tools.

Square's AI for beauty sellers is spread thin: reminder texts clients can answer to confirm or move appointments, an AI writer in email marketing, and Managerbot, an assistant in open beta that answers questions about your business and drafts staff schedules. Square's AI phone answering takes restaurant orders, not appointments.
AI pricing: Square Assistant is on every plan, including Free. AI email writing needs Square Plus ($49 a month per location), Premium ($149) or Square Marketing. Managerbot is free during its US open beta.
