A search that includes local intent (like "nail salon near me"), which Google answers with nearby businesses ranked by proximity and relevance.
A "near me" search is any query where the person wants a business close to their current location, whether or not they type the words "near me." Google reads the intent from the query and the device location and returns a map with nearby options. For beauty businesses this is the highest-intent moment there is: someone wants a service now and is choosing where to get it.
The behavior has exploded. Near-me and close-by queries surged 900% over two years, 70% of local searches come from mobile, and critically 76% of near-me searchers visit a business within a day.
